PolarPro Phantom 4 ND filters
PolarPro, one of the leading manufacturers of DJI Phantom ND filters, has released 3 collections of filters; the new PolarPro Phantom 4 ND filters. These new filter collections for are; the Gunmetal Edition, the Cinema Series Shutter Collection, and the Cinema Series Vivid Collection.
(All these filters will also work with the Phantom 3 Pro/Adv/4k. If you’re looking for Phantom 3 standard filters, click here instead)
If you’re not exactly sure how and why ND filters are used (or why it’s good to use them) read our article “Making better video” first as we explain it there.
All of the new PolarPro Phantom 4 ND filters are manufactured with PolarPro’s AirFrame design. This makes each filter ultra-light for smooth gimbal operation. There is also no difference in warranty between the new PolarPro Phantom 4 ND filters. All of them come with a lifetime warranty which means they’ll likely outlast your Phantom 4.
So what is the difference between the series?
The Cinema Series glass is made out of a different glass compound than the Gunmetal Edition. This compound has higher light transmittance and a lower refractive index. Additionally, the Cinema Series glass is multi-coated which helps reduce lens flaring. As PolarPro says:”The Cinema Series is for pilots who demand the absolute best.”
And the difference between the Shutter Collection and the Vivid Collection?
The Shutter Collection has been designed to reduce shutter speeds as much as possible (ND16/32/64) while the Vivid collection filters are ND/Polarizing filters (ND4/8/16). So aside from reducing shutter speed they also remove glare and increase color saturation.
The PolarPro DJI Phantom 4 filter 3-Pack is designed specifically for the Phantom 4 camera. These filters are slightly longer than the PolarPro P3 filters which match the Phantom 4 camera size perfectly.
Constructed out of Ultra-High Definition glass each filter provides maximum sharpness and razor sharp clarity.
The aircraft aluminum frames are ultra-light and designed specifically for use on a gimbal. The lightweight design allows the gimbal to move smoothly.
This filter set for the DJI Phantom 4 is a great starter set for capturing cinematic photos and videos. Backed by a lifetime warranty, these high-quality filters are guaranteed to last as long as your drone. This filter set includes a Rotatable Circular Polarize filter, ND4 filter, and an ND8 filter.

Edit: After reading this post on the DJI forum:
We are launching a Phantom 4 Gimbal Lock next week which fits our filters. If you (or anyone else on the DJI forum) purchase our filters, shoot me an email and I can send you out the new P4 Gimbal Lock.
it appears that the new filters still don’t fit DJI’s gimbal guard. It may be worth registering at the forum to take advantage of this offer.
